I did it!

Well world, I did it! I slept in my own big girl bed last night! :) Mommy was all gung-ho about putting me in my crib by myself yesterday morning, but then when it came time... she had second thoughts. I think she soon realized though that this day would come, and that I couldn't very well still be sleeping in their room at the age of 25, so away I went. She stayed in there with me until I fell asleep... which I did watching my new mobile. She left the monitor on full blast though all night, so I know she didn't get much sleep. I think I even heard Daddy come in to make sure my windows were locked so I didn't get kidnapped. I'm growing up! :)

I love books!

So every other time my daddy tried to read a story to me I would scream. He used to read me this story called "My Daddy;" I would scream everytime Daddy read the part about Daddy liking to hammer... what can I say... I don't like manual labor. :) This "Yummy Yucky" book though... it's hot stuff. Daddy read it to me before bed tonight, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. First "Yummy Yucky," next... I'm taking on "War and Peace". :)

My big girl bed

Now that I'm a big bad 2 month old, and having a blast sleeping through the night (for the most part), Mommy made me lay in my crib today. It's kind of like my pack-n-play because it has funny things that sing and circle over my head, so I kind of dig that. It's a little scary though because my new bed is gigantic compared to my little bassinet that is in Mommy and Daddy's room. I fell asleep in my new bed this afternoon for a little nap, so I think Mommy is going to make me try to sleep in it tonight. Wish me luck!!! :)

Shots!

So... today I had my 2 month visit! I'm a whopping 12 lbs 9 oz and 23.25 inches long. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!? I'm growing like crazy. I'm in the 90th percentile for my weight... what can I say... I love to eat... and in the 75th percentile for my height. My doc said I was super healthy though so Mommy and Daddy aren't worried about my festively plump physique. Now Mommy told me this visit would be a little different than my previous visits... I would get shots this time, and boy were they poopie! I cried when the nurse poked me, but recuperated fairly quickly. Check out my super hot band-aids! :) Mommy made sure to give me some baby Tylenol in case I get a fever... she's so nice to me. She even bought be the grape flavored. It was SUPER yummy... none of that cherry flavored business for Mommy's little baby girl! :)

I'm so old... I should learn to knit

Today I'm 2 months old! So exciting! Mommy says she never thought we would make it this far... but we did. I'm such a big girl. I can't wait to go to the doctor's office on Thursday to learn how much I've grown. With my super human eating powers... I bet I've gained a solid 2-3 lbs. GO ME!

My first grown up PARTY!

Mommy and Daddy were invited to Angie and Tommy's annual Christmas sweater party, and I got to go! It was awesome! Everyone was so festive... even I had an outfit on... I mean I didn't want to stand out. Here are some pictures of my adventures.

Here's me with Daddy in our outfits... chillaxin'.

Me with my new friend Tommy. He's so funny! :)

This is my friend Angie... she's trying to console me... I don't fall for that too often though.

Mommy needed some "her time"

So Mommy went out with Auntie Lu last Friday for some mexican, and I got to stay home and play with Daddy. It was so fun! He fed me, and let me watch my puppies... and he let me get naked. It was so liberating! I just got to hang around in my papi, vibratin'... listenin' to some tunes... and being naked. Daddy should watch me more often.

Baby got back...

This brings new meaning to "baby got back". My mommy just couldn't resist snapping this shot of me during tummy time. Not only does she belittle my intelligence and make me partake in such nonsense, but she takes incriminating photographs as well. Gosh mom!

Homies

I have lots of homies. Here I am with my funky fresh homie... "Pink." HOLLER! (Can you tell Mommy is tired?)

Christmas Picture

So Mommy and Daddy wanted to have a nice Christmas picture of me to send to all of our close friends and family with our Christmas cards. They bought me a pretty dress, dressed me up, put a little bow in my hair... and then I let loose. I was supposed to pose in front of the Christmas tree, but I just wasn't feelin' it. Everytime Daddy lifted me in front of the tree, I screamed. He would put me back down, and I was as happy as a clam. Finally Mommy gave up and settled on this! :)

Silly Smilin!

I have perfected my smile! Everytime mommy pulls out that funny black thing that she likes to flash in my face... I smile... and then she tells me I'm such a good girl! (Which makes me smile even more.) I've also been working on following more things with my eyeballs. I like to stare at my puppy mobile, lights, and the pictures on the wall, and even the big blank wall... SO COOL! Mommy keeps working with me on holding my head up with tummy time, but I think tummy time is overrated. I'll lift my head every once in a while to get her to flip me back over, and then I like to spit up on my blanket, so she'll pick me up and put me with my puppies.

My eyeballs are working!

My mom knew my eyeballs worked before, but she was starting to worry... as I'm sure all mommies do with the little stuff. I'm a very good starer, but now I've graduated to being a good follower. I was in my pack-n-play today and wanted to get my mommy's attention, so I blew up my diaper, and she came a-runnin. :) I was staring at my puppy mobile secretly wanting mommy to turn it on for me. She did, and I shocked her by smiling and following the puppies with my eyes each time they turned around. She was super proud of me! :)

Santa!

Today was super special... I got my picture taken with Santa, and I didn't even cry! Mommy, Daddy, and Uncle Aaron put up our Christmas tree and some decorations around the house too... I could really get used to this holiday! Hopefully Santa will bring me lots of diapers and formula for Christmas... at least that's what Mommy wants. If it were up to me I'd have lots of super hot clothes and little shoes, and I suppose some books too to make me nice and smart. :) My favorite thing is going to be shopping with Mommy for all the gifts I'm giving out... yay for my first Christmas!

Those poor Wahoos

I can't help but feel bad for the Wahoos... they tried so hard to beat my Hokies, but they just couldn't do it.

It was a super good game; I watched the whole thing with my daddy. I'm so proud of those boys, and I can't wait to see them take on BC again... you all remember how I feel about BC, so hopefully it'll end with a smile this time. :) Oh yeah... BY THE WAY... I'm starting to control my smiles... yaaaaay for me!

My first Turkey Day

Turkey Day is so much fun; I can't wait until I actually know what it is and can eat turkey! :) My grandparents came over to visit, so I got to play with them while Mommy and Daddy cooked dinner for us.

I had a super hot outfit on too... I'm lucky Mommy got my big head through it!

Turkey really does make you tired... who knew?

My new boyfriend

So I finally got to meet my boyfriend Jackson, and he sure is a cutie! Unfortunately the only picture I got taken with him is not one of my best, but what are you going to do?

1 month old

Sunday was a big day for baby Reese... she turned 1 month old! She's changed A LOT! She's 2 lbs heavier than she was at birth; she loves her milk! Reese is able to lift her head fairly well when we do tummy time, but she is awesome at holding it up when you hold her upright... not a ragdoll anymore. She's able to focus on mommy and daddy's face, and she's smiling a lot more... hopefully she's practicing for the "REAL" smile. Her daddy and I can't wait for the adventures the next month holds (as long as it entails more sleeping!) Happy birthday baby! :)

VT 40 FSU 21

Saturday was the big football game... Florida State. Cyn and her mom made the trip in to enjoy watching Beamer FINALLY kick Bowden's buttocks. Reese got to go to her very first tailgate. It was super cold, so she spent most of her time in the car sleeping, but frankly mommy needed to get out of the house! :) She got to wear her little cheerleading outfit too! Yay for the Hokies!!

My hot photo shoot

Thanks to Mere we're trying a new routine with baby Reese. EASY... eat, activity, sleep, and you time. The you time seems to be a real joke thus far, but hopefully that chunk will become longer. I started using it yesterday, and it was actually pretty fun! We did so many great things: we read one of Reese's baby Einstein books, we had a blast in her new jungle swing, and tummy time turned in to a great photo shoot. ENJOY!

Here I am in my new swing looking all kinds of sweet. :)

This was right before I spit up all over my blanket.

Tummy time makes me cry. I try so hard...

I'll have it some day. :(

Mommy finally rescued me, but not before taking my picture. :)

Here I am... happy again... why do I have to learn to lift my head anyway? ;)

Halloween!

Well, this year was Reese's first Halloween, and I don't think she was at all amused. :) We dressed her up as a little pumpkin and then exploited her in a plethora of photographs... ENJOY!

She's obviously not very excited with our choice of costume... it's only a matter of time I suppose before she wants to be Dora the Explorer or even worse... a Disney princess!

Here is Reese with her pumpkin her daddy picked out for her before she was born. She may have also just pooed herself. :)

She was much happier with us once we took her hat off, but not to worry...

We put everything right back on her once she fell asleep. She may not have liked the pumpkin, but she's bound to love her costume for next year... yes I've already purchased it! :) Mommy loves the sales!!!!

Tummy Time and Mail!

Now that baby girl's stump is gone the pediatrician said we can start doing tummy time with Reese. She did great her first day! We did cheat a little bit though by putting her on her boppy, so she wouldn't take in a mouth full of blanket. :)

That same day Reese received her first real piece of mail with her very own name on it! It was an adorable Halloween card from Aunt Cindy's grandparents. You better believe that's going right in the scrapbook! :)

My first prints

Uncle Aaron got Reese this adorable polka dotted frame that says "My First Prints" at the bottom. Daddy went all over Blacksburg looking for an ink pad, so we could finally put our frame up in her room. After going to half a dozen places, he finally arrived home, and we were ready for the task at hand. Reese did beautifully with her feet! It wasn't until we tried the hands that we had some issues. The stamping part went great. As soon as she had that ink on her hands, she closed, flailed, and threw her hands everywhere but on the paper! Mommy, Daddy, and baby had ink EVERYWHERE. Needless to say we choose to celebrate the accomplishments and not the downfalls... so here's Reese getting her footprint taken...
We'll also be waiting 'til she's 18 to take her first hand prints...

Boston College smells like #2

Well, Reese got to watch her first Virginia Tech football game on t.v! Well it was actually her second, but it was her first home game. Mommy was going to take her to tailgate for a little while, because she was wearing her cheerleading outfit and wanted to show it off, but the weather did not cooperate. It was raining and very very cold... too cold for Reese. We would have had to bundle her up, and then what's the point in wearing the cute outfit if you have to cover it up!? She was super excited about the whole game until the dreaded last 4 minutes. We all know what happened, and we don't like to discuss it too much. :) I asked Reese how she felt about the whole experience, and this is all she could say...

Visitors

The last set of grandparents finally arrived to welcome little Reese into the world. This weekend we had the Perlewitz G-parents visit! Not only was that a big deal for Baby Girl, but she also got her very first cell phone, her stump fell off (yaaaaaaaaaaaay... her droopy drawers will be much easier to change now!), and she went on her first walk in downtown Blacksburg. She was quite the star!

After such a busy weekend, she was definitely too pooped to party... but not to poop her pants. :)

My first week of life!

Reese was originally supposed to come into the world TODAY, but she decided to bless us a week early! We're so excited and blessed to have added her to our little family. She weighed a whopping 8 lbs and is slowly but surely gaining back her birth weight. Reese was definitely all arms and legs while in mommy's belly; she ended up being 20.5 in long. So far some of her favorite things to do are laying in her baby papazan chair from her uncle Aaron, eating, and pooping... A LOT. We love her so much and can't wait to see her smile at us! :) Here is a Reese's very first picture!

Her first full day was full of sleeping, pooping, eating, and a few visitors. Some of her first visitors were her grandma and grandpa Pattison. They love her so much! We also got visits from our friend Auntie Laura and Angie.

Staying at the hospital got to be a bit of a bore, so we left a little earlier than planned. We just couldn't wait to get our little family started in our own house. Riding in the car for the first time was such an adventure. Reese was so excited, she fell right asleep as soon as we put her in her car seat. :) Here she is packing up her flowers getting ready to go.

Once we got home there were more and more visitors to come. One of Reese's favorite visitors is her Nana. Nana and Pop took tons of pictures and discovered the Picture Photoshop at the Wal-mart and hasn't been the same since. :)

Something I have been looking forward to doing... giving Baby Reese her first bath! Instead of focusing on getting her poor little body clean, it was more of a photo shoot hosted by the paparazzi! Needless to say, she did get clean and we had loads of fun.

Reese's first real outting was to her daddy's softball game (which they won... yaaaaaaaaay). All of the boys went absolutely gaga over her. I think they enjoyed her more than the girls did! I can already tell she's going to be a heartbreaker.

While mommy works on getting herself back into her pre-baby clothes, Reese has decided to take up a membership at the gym. That would be her jungle gym of course! Right now we just enjoy laying there, but soon watch out world... she'll be a giraffe butt-kicking baby! :)

Reese got lots of really great things from all of her showers, but one of mommy's favorites is her hotsling from Auntie Jen. This way mommy can keep her baby near and dear to her heart while going on her many adventures in the house! She's come quite accustomed to doing the laundry and dishes, so now baby girl can supervise.

Here Reese is a week later, her due date, TODAY! She's had a whirlwind of a week and needs to catch up on her beauty sleep. Here she is doing her favorite thing... napping with daddy. What a perfect ending to our baby girl's first week of life! Welcome to the world REESIE BABY!
